These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the rental, leasing and rent-to-own services provided by Yalla Drive, a trading brand operated by Al-Maher Rent A Car LLC ("the Company", "we", "us") in the Sultanate of Oman. By reserving, taking delivery of, or using any vehicle from Yalla Drive, the customer ("you", "the Renter") agrees to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
- The Renter must be at least 21 years of age (25 for premium and SUV categories).
- The Renter must hold a valid driving licence accepted under the laws of the Sultanate of Oman.
- The Renter must present a valid Omani Resident ID or, for visitors, a valid passport with entry visa.
- The Company reserves the right to refuse rental at its sole discretion.
2. Bookings & Payment
- All bookings are subject to vehicle availability and confirmation by the Company.
- Rental fees, security deposits, delivery charges and applicable taxes must be paid in advance unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Accepted methods of payment include cash, bank transfer and approved card payments.
- A refundable security deposit is required at the start of each rental and will be released after the vehicle is returned and inspected.
3. Use of the Vehicle
- The vehicle may only be driven by the named Renter or additional drivers approved in writing by the Company.
- The vehicle must not be used for racing, off-road driving, towing, sub-letting, transporting illegal goods, or for any commercial purpose not pre-approved.
- Driving outside the Sultanate of Oman is strictly prohibited without the Company's prior written consent.
- Smoking, transporting animals (except service animals) and consumption of food or beverages that may damage the vehicle interior are not permitted.
4. Mileage Allowance
Unless a different package is agreed in writing, the standard mileage allowances are: 150 km/day, 1,250 km/week, and 5,000 km/month. Excess mileage is charged at 40 baisa per additional kilometre.
5. Fuel
Vehicles are delivered with a specified fuel level and must be returned with the same level. Missing fuel will be charged at prevailing pump rates plus an administrative fee.
6. Traffic Fines, Tolls & Salik
All traffic violations, fines, parking charges, and impound fees incurred during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the Renter and will be charged to the Renter's account along with an administrative handling fee per fine.
7. Accidents, Damage & Insurance
- All vehicles are covered by comprehensive insurance subject to policy terms, conditions and excess.
- In the event of any accident, the Renter must notify the Royal Oman Police and obtain an official police report immediately. Insurance claims cannot be processed without it.
- The Renter is liable for the insurance excess, any uninsured damage, single-vehicle accidents not covered by the policy, and any loss arising from breach of these Terms.
- Loss of keys, vehicle documents, or the vehicle itself will be charged at replacement cost.
8. Vehicle Return
- The vehicle must be returned at the agreed date, time and location.
- Late returns are charged on a pro-rata daily basis plus a late-return fee.
- Vehicles returned in an excessively dirty condition are subject to a cleaning fee.
9. Rent-to-Own Program
Rent-to-Own plans are subject to a separate signed agreement, customer eligibility, income verification, and the Company's approval. Missed instalments may result in suspension or termination of the agreement and repossession of the vehicle in accordance with Omani law.
10. Liability
The Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including loss of profits, business interruption, or personal items left in the vehicle.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Sultanate of Oman. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Omani courts.
